How to Style: Theresa Case

Like many women, Theresa Case’s personal style has changed since she retired in 2015 after working as a statistics analyst at the Missouri Department of Insurance for 29 years.
“I used to dress up every day,” she said. “Now that I’m retired, I clean offices and I’m out working in the yard; I tend to be way more casual.”
Case may dress more informally now, but she stays busy with her favorite hobbies. She not only loves doing yard work, she also enjoys finding garden art and using her creativity to design beautiful lawns for her friends.
Family is a top priority for Case, married to her husband, Randy for 18 years and having two daughters, Christy and Amanda. She spends as much time as she can with her adorable 5-year-old grandson, Cecil, and she is very excited to welcome a new grand-baby to their expanding family in the near future.
While indulging in her most cherished activities in retirement, Case often doesn’t get the chance to truly pamper herself. Even though a makeover was “out of her comfort zone,” she was delighted to have the experience.
“(Co-owner) Terri (Plank) at Amie B. (and The Orchid Emporium) is wonderful. I shop there a lot, and they did a great job … They picked out this outfit, and I just knew it was for me,” Case said. “I want to thank Terri … not just for this opportunity, but for her, Jake (Seifert, business partner) and Amie (Creed, co-owner) for always treating me so well when shopping in their store. It’s also my go-to place for plants and special gifts.” Case also loved how the ladies at Salon Va’Lise colored and cut her hair, as well as applied amazing makeup.
“The ladies at the salon were wonderful. Everyone was very kind and helpful,” she said. “I really enjoyed this whole experience, and I loved my whole look.”

The style

Hair- Robyn used Kenra Demi Permanent Color Guy Tang’s Light Metallic Bronze to soften and slightly warm Theresa’s existing blonde. Robyn then used Kenra Permanent Color for Theresa’s deep red copper statement pieces in her bangs, crown, around her ears and her nape to add dimension to the color and haircut. After the color finished processing, Robyn shampooed with Amika Triple Rx Shampoo and then conditioned with Amika Triple Rx Conditioner. Robyn then blow-dried Amika Bombshell Blowout Spray to protect and add texture along with Amika The Perfect Body Whipped Mousse, to plump and volumize. To finish Theresa’s style, Robyn used Aquage Transforming Paste for creative detailing and Amika Headstrong Hairspray to fight humidity and for superior hold.
Clothing Amie B.’s styled Theresa in a great little go-to transitional outfit. She wore black capris with a kimono style leopard print sweater cardigan. She added canvas sandals with a hint of gold glitter, and finished with Rustic Cuff leopard print jewelry accents for just a touch of bling.
